Linda was the second doll I made. She's based on pattern #6 from Antonette Cely's Cloth Dollmaking, although I enarged her head just a bit.
Things I learned making this doll:
- My hand sewing skills will never be good enough to attach a separate thumb to a hand that small. At this point I ordered a tiny stuffing tool so I could deal better with hand details in future.
- I made her shoes with "regular" leather. It worked, but it was a battle. Glove leather would have been much better.
- Her hair was "plugged in" with a felting needle, then I added a little drop of white glue at the roots with a toothpick. Quite durable and successful.
- I like her fur stole, but neither she nor I liked her dress. I will replace it one day.
