Phyllis Solter attended Wichita State University where she received a degree in Music History and Theory. She followed that with graduate work in Music History at the University of Arizona. In recent years she has been principal violist for both the Bremerton Symphony and the Olympia Chamber Orchestra, and assistant principal with the Olympia Symphony. She also plays in the Capital Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to the being the second violinist in the Cecilia Quartet, she is also the violist of the Olympia Chamber Players String Trio. She has performed with a number of chamber music groups in this area including the Del Amici String Quartet and the Almond Latté Duo.
